Extreme Winter Weather Causes Problems for Cedar Valley Residents

2019 has had a harsh first quarter thus far. We’ve endured record amounts of snow, frigid temperatures, and ice in a very short amount of time. As a result of the extreme cold temperatures, SERVPRO of Black Hawk County has responded to many calls where frozen pipes have been responsible for water pipe bursts and water losses.

In the photo above, not only was there one pipe burst, there were four! That is the result of insanely cold temperatures and improper insulation. It’s hard to say if proper insulation could have prevented this loss altogether, but it's definitely a good idea to check on insulation when renovating or building a home.
