Smoke Damaged Walls Calls for New Drywall
The smoke from a fire turned the walls black and damaged the drywall significantly. Unfortunately, Drywall is hard to save once it’s been damaged, so in most cases, we’re forced to rip out the bad spots and start over.
One of our jobs as a restoration business is documenting all of the damaged items in a home. We make note of the items that can be saved and record the items that are past repair. The non-savable itemized list is then sent to the insurance agency to assess and determine the monetary value of the loss.
You can see in the after picture, we stripped the room down to its bare bones, and now it’s ready for the next steps in restoring it.
