Flash Flooding Causes Sewer Backup

This Des Moines business was hit hard by flash flooding earlier in July 2018. The flooding caused the sewer to backup, which left a mess and a not-so-lovely smell behind. SERVPRO of Black Hawk County was called in for backup during this time of emergency.

In the photo, you can see a small custodian closet suffered from the backup due to a drain located inside. A rather gross layer of sewer water was left behind, but that didn’t scare us away.

Our technicians got to work removing the contaminated water and later sanitized the room and contents. Now, you can’t even tell there was an issue. One might even say it’s, “Like it never even happened.”
