We always enjoy volunteering at the Waterloo Fire Rescue EMS Open House. The hands-on demonstrations and activities bring such great value to our community. It was so great to see over 250 people in attendance!

Stop, Drop & Roll: Claims Involving a Fire was the focus of the continuing education classes for agency members of First Maxfield Insurance. SERVPRO of Black Hawk County teamed up with planning & arranging hands-on demonstrations and fun using the party room at SingleSpeed Brewing Co.

We hit the jackpot in more ways than one! Our time at this year's Strictly Business Expo, hosted by Grow Cedar Valley was nothing short of golden. Embracing the event's theme of 'prospecting for gold,' we engaged attendees with a thrilling gold mining activity, and spotlighted our invaluable gold nugget employees! 2023 | Annual Alzheimers Walk

In a crowd of 150+ people, almost every hand went up when asked if they knew someone with Dementia or if Alzheimers had effected their lives in some way. SERVPRO of Black Hawk County is grateful for the opportunity to support the Annual Alzheimers Walk on Sept 23rd. Owners Scott and Libby led the walkers with the SERVPRO golf cart on the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s® event in Cedar Falls, including Team SERVPRO participating.

2023 | Pack the Dome

We joined forces with UNI's Office of Community Engagement and Panther Pantry along with the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley and the Northeast Iowa Food Bank for Martin Luther King Jr. Day! This day of service entailed packaging food for the “Backpack Program”. This program serves 4,100 children at 159 different schools across northeast Iowa each month! It was a great evening!

We have been busy attending local golf outings that support important causes. We attended the Waterloo Firefighters IAFF L66 & Cedar Valley F.O.O.L.S golf outings recently and had a wonderful time on the course. Proceeds from these events go to Americans for Independent Living and St. Florian Fire and Burn Foundation. We are honored to play a part in raising money for these wonderful causes!

2021 | House of Hope Donation

Every year we choose a recipient for our SERVPRO family giving during the holidays! This year our team went in on a new rocking chair to gift to the House of Hope. Their mission is changing so many lives. Our Warehouse and Equipment Coordinator, Chuck, put this rocker together so we could deliver it ready for use! In addition, our BBC Referal group donated other essential items for the women and children at House of Hope!

This year in spreading holiday happiness, we wanted to help people wrap up their year, so we gave the gift of gift-giving! While out and about on our delivery route, we ran into the Grinch! No worries though because he was the grinch whose heart was big as ever!

2021 | Strictly Business

This year's Strictly Business Expo was a great success and all about growing the Cedar Valley! The beverages, food, and speaker were all superb. In addition, there were so many great individuals there representing their companies. It was so nice to get out and about and converse with other businesses! 

2021 | Red Cross Cookie Delivering

What we look forward to most is making an impact in our community. SERVPRO of Black Hawk County serves on the Red Cross Community Volunteer Board, and every year we get the privilege of packaging cookies and treats and delivering them to our first responders. This year we were able to do that a little more "normally" since the start of the pandemic. It was such a joy! Thank you to all of our first responders! 

2021 | Chamber Golf Outing

We participated in the Grow Cedar Valley Chamber Golf Outing and what a beautiful day it was! The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze in the air on hole 15! This was our second golf outing for the day, as Debbie was out at Beaver Hills supporting our realtors! How lucky are we to have such great events in our community! 

2021 | Relator Golf Outing

The Relator Golf Outing for 2021 is in the books. We enjoy providing great treats and little bits of fun on the course! Our summer was full of many of these great events, and we hope to continue supporting our community in this way! 

2021 | Putt-Putt for a Purpose

This year we participated in Putt-Putt for a Purpose, put on by the Rotary Club. We had a little friendly competition of boys versus girls and it was so much fun! The proceeds for this event when to the Job Foundation which supports financial literacy for High School Students and their families. It was a wonderful day! 

2021 | Two Great Golf Events

What's better than one golf outing? Two! That's right, we were able to support two great causes in one day and make it to both of the courses. We started our day at the Local 66 Firefighters tournament which supports Veterans with transitional housing needs. Later we joined the Live Lucky Charity Golf Tournament and handed out some cold, sweet treats! 

2021 | Irish Fest

Our "green dream team" celebrated Irish Fest by pouring beer and handing out our SERVPRO coozies! There are always a lot of laughs and smiles when our employees get together. We are LUCKY to have such a great team for occasions like this! 

2021 | Waverly Heritage Days Parade

Our SERVPRO team spent our Saturday morning walking in the Waverly Heritage Days Parade! It was such a great event and we loved being able to see so many smiling faces in our community! We can now say our first parade is officially in the books!

The Cedar Falls class of 1990 came in to build their float for the Sturgis 2021 Parade! It was great to see our warehouse being used to help the community celebrate. 

2021 | Employee Appreciation at the Bucks Baseball Game

Friday, June 18th our SERVPRO family gathered at the Bucks Baseball Coors Light Lounge. We got to enjoy some good food and cold beverages in honor of employee appreciation. It was so nice to get out of the office and warehouse and come together for some much-needed conversation and laughs!

2021 | We MOVED!

On the 23rd of July, we officially moved our central office and warehouse just a few miles down the street! Because of the continuous support of all of our great customers, we needed more space to serve all of YOU! WE can't wait to see what kind of new opportunities this new space will bring! 

2021 | Cedar Valley Catholic Schools Golf Event

We sponsored the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools Golf Outing on June 17th and had a wonderful day! Our marketing team, Debbie Robeson and Maddie Engelke sat on the 18th hole and ran the closest to the pin game to help raise money on behalf of the school and handed out sweet, cold treats. Our owner, Scott Demuth also participated in this event. 

2021 Polar Plunge - Special Olympics Iowa

On May 1st, SERVPRO of Black Hawk County participated in the Polar Plunge in support of the Special Olympics. The owner, marketing team, construction manager, project manager, and two production technicians invested a few hours from their Saturday to "plunge" into the George Wyth beach. It was such a beautiful and sunny day!

Discover and Devour at Smith Insurance (April 15th, 2021)

Black Hawk County and SERVPRO of Decorah went to visit Smith Insurance in Lamont, IA for a "Lunch and Learn" or how we like to call it, "Discover and Devour." We brought over breakfast pizza and yummy donuts so they can enjoy while our owner, Scott Demuth, talked about SERVPRO, our services, and how we can be a resource to an insurance agent. We were so pleased by the engagement and incredible feedback!

CE Class for Insurance Agents in Calmar, IA

On April 7th, SERVPRO of Black Hawk County and SERVPRO of Decorah hosted Continuing Education classes for Insurance Agents in Calmar, IA. We were excited to host our first in-person meeting of the year. Todd Davis, the presenter who has years of experience in insurance, brings so many nuggets of information and experience to the table. 2020 Identity Theft CE Class

SERVPRO of Black Hawk County and SERVPRO of Decorah hosted a CE class in Decorah, IA. It was a class of about 20 insurance agents. We were grateful to be in a beautiful venue with plenty of room to practice social distancing. Our presenter, Bill Walker (Legal Shield), really opened our eyes to forms of identity theft and gave us some really great resources to protect ours.

2020 Halloween

We hope you had a great Halloween! We know we did! We dressed up as a SERVPRO superhero! Our restorative and cleaning crew are the real heroes though. Every day, they choose to say Yes to whatever disaster clean up comes our way with the realization that they are truly making a difference. 

 

2020 CE Class for Insurance Agents

On October 22nd, we were joined by many of our insurance friends at our CE Class presented by Mr.Todd Davis. During COVID, in-person events can be tricky but we were grateful to find a big enough venue where it allowed us to social distance. Thanks to all the insurance agents that participated and we look forward to hosting again soon!

2020 Boss's Day!

In celebration of Boss's Day, we celebrated with a "Captain" theme! We were glad to present our bosses, Scott and Libby Demuth with a small fun gift and an appreciation card. We AAARGHH so happy to have such great leaders!

We were honored to attend the inaugural and we hope 2021 be full of prosperity and fun activities for the realtors! Congrats to the rest of the board of directors too!

Happy National Coffee Day!!

We had a great time dropping off Sidecar Coffee Roasters coffee to some businesses/home office that our Facebook followers nominated. We brought coffee to a local church (Hope City Church), a radio broadcasting network (Life 101.9) and we even got to go to our friend's (Kate Wyatt) home office. Thanks to Dan Phillips, Elly Toissant, and Emma Husome for nominating these great people.

2020 Live Lucky Charity Golf Tournament

On August 28, we had the opportunity to sponsor a golf tournament for the Husomestrong Foundation who help the amputee community through peer support, advocacy, and financial assistance. It was a good day to pass out frozen chocolate bars and reconnect with some of our local community leaders. Thanks, Steve for letting us enjoy a beautiful day outdoors with some pretty great people!

2020 CE Classes for Insurance Agents

On August 5th, we held an in-person CE Class at a large event center in Cedar Falls. We were pleased with the amount of space, allowing a good amount of people to sit individually or with their officemates. It's always a good CE Class when Todd Davis, an insurance agent in Peoria, instructs the classes. 

2020 SERVPRO Virtual Conference

Every year, SERVPRO HQ hosts a large convention celebration for our franchise owners so this year, due to COVID, our corporate team decided to host their first virtual conference. This allowed not only the franchise owners but all of the SERVPRO team to join. They creatively held live educational webinars on different topics from marketing to cleaning product education. We even had the opportunity to listen to an amazing keynote speaker, Kevin Brown right in our office. He used to be apart of the SERVPRO team and still is in so many ways. It was a real treat to listen to him speak about casting vision on yourself and the team. We are very proud to a part of a network that pushes forward in ingenuity and class.

Disinfecting American Red Cross "ERV"

We are cleaning up ERV (Emergency Ready Vehicle) back at our warehouse during the COVID19 pandemic. We have assigned an area in our warehouse for American Red Cross ERV to park and for the volunteers to have access to the vehicle whenever they want. Once they return from an outing, we are disinfecting the vehicle with a mist of our SERVPROxide. So glad we could help!

Cedar Valley Catholic Schools Sponsorship

Food Rescue (Final Week)

At the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we found the opportunity to help at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank by taking over the Food Rescue routes on Tuesday and Thursday. For almost 2 months, we were able to fill a need by rescuing food from 4 grocery stores and taking them to the Food Bank. The usual volunteers are coming back and we aren't needed anymore but we are glad about what we were able to achieve for the community in such a short time. We definitely recommend volunteering for this organization.

Food Bank (Week Seven)

We are doing NEW things! For example, Dani (Market Support Coordinator), drove the SERVPRO Transit Vehicle for the first time! Despite the size of this vehicle, she was happy to sit on the driver's seat and lead the way to pick up baked goods to our local food bank. AND IN THE RAIN! The Transit was such a help... because of its space, we were able to load all the food without making extra trips. 

CE Classes for Insurance Agents (06/11/2020)

We hosted our very first CE class of the year in a new location. New Hampton, IA! We were happy to pick an area where we can invite Insurance agents in the SERVPRO of Decorah and SERVPRO of Black Hawk's footprint. We were afraid that we had to cancel the event due to the pandemic but we were able to cut down the class to only 20 individuals, practice social distancing, and offer SERVPRO clean location. It was very good to see familiar and even some new faces!

Food Bank (Week Six)

We are rocking our new T-shirts on our Food Rescue Mission this week! We are wearing and sharing all over the Cedar Valley on what we do... HELP OUR COMMUNITY. Whether it's rescuing a home from flooding to rescuing food from the grocery store, we are ready! Special shout out to our Marketing Manager, Debbie Robeson (Picture) who made the connection with the Food Bank and asked, "How can we help?" 

Food Bank (Week Five)

Helping the Food Bank during these times have been an absolute joy. Marketing team (Dani and Debbie) and our warehouse manager Chuck Frost, have dedicated Tuesday and Thursday morning to rescue food using our SERVPRO green vehicles with a great attitude and a mission to fill the need for volunteers.

Food Bank (Week Four) (Red Nose Day 2020)

During COVID-19, Red Nose day skipped their calling card, the red clown nose to a digital Red Nose for safety reasons but we were persistent and made our own cut out red noses to put on our face masks as we picked up food from our local grocery stores to take them to the Food Bank. Red Nose Day goal is "to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated." Red Nose Day has supported many programs such as Feeding America. Our local food bank is connected to the Feeding America network. 

2020 Regional Meeting

On April 13th, our marketing manager Debbie Robeson shared with several SERVPRO franchises on our marketing plan during the pandemic. She did an excellent job of communicating the importance of community involvement and updating our website to explain our services. 

2020 Power Networking Virtual Event

GROW Cedar Valley, our local chamber hosted a virtual power networking event with about 22 participants. Each participant was allotted 2 minutes to introduce themselves and their business. Our Marketing Support Coordinator, Danelia Barboza, did an excellent job in represented SERVPRO. She spoke about her role, our services, and our community involvement. Thanks for believing in the brand!

2020 Food Rescue (Week Three)

Becca Huber, Food Sourcing Manager at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, shared how much food we rescue in the past two weeks and we are blown away!! We have rescued 4,170 lbs of food!! What an amazing opportunity to make a difference. Shout out to our amazing owner, Scott Demuth, who is providing the vehicles and the manpower to assist in filling that need. 

2020 Food Rescue (Week Two)

We have an amazing opportunity to help feed local Iowans by rescuing food from local grocery stores. We have been rescuing a lot of baked good but we get most excited when we rescue dairy products. Freddy Williams, Receiving Coordinator at the Food Bank, has educated us on how precious this is to families. 

2020 Food Rescue (Week One)

On April 28th, We started volunteering for a few hours every Tuesday and Thursday to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank's Food Rescue mission. Our marketing team is driving our green vehicles to local grocery stores and picking up food to drop off to the food bank. 

2nd Annual NEIRBR Vendor Fair | 2020

We were invited back to the Annual Northeast Iowa Regional Board of Realtors Vendor Booth. We are very honored that out of the 21 vendors, we were the only restoration company there! We were able to network and educate others on how we help others through a disaster. The day included food, drinks and $500 in give-away prizes. 

2019 Iowa Division IAI Conference

We were invited to participate as a vendor at the Iowa Division International Association for Identification at Johnston, Iowa. We were joined by SERVPRO of Burlington and SERVPRO of Des Moines East/SW to represent other regions. We shared our Biohazard, Crime, and Trauma cleanup services to police enforcers, crime investigators, and forensic specialists. 

2019 9/11 Never Forget Blood Drive

We want to give a special thanks to the Waterloo Fire and Rescue Department for allowing us to be a resource to you for this great event. The 9/11 Never Forget Blood Drive hosted by the fire department and American Red Cross is an annual event. We were able to pass out water, candy and some of our staff even donated blood. We're so proud of Waterloo First Responders!

2019 Discover & Devour with LSB agents

On September 4th, we had an opportunity to host a Lunch and Learn or as we like to refer to them as "Discover and Devour" with one of Iowa's Insurance firm. We were excited to present to them, "The Journey of a Claim with SERVPRO", and highlight our services and great equipment. Thanks for Lincoln Saving Banks for learning with us.  

2019 Firefighters L66 Golf Classic

On August 23, Waterloo Firefighters L66 held their annual golf classic with all their proceeds going to the Waterloo's Veteran Transitional Home. We were happy to sponsor a hole. The weather was incredibly perfect and we had a chance to say hi to our local firefighters, some insurance agents, and even Mayor Quentin Hart. We had multiple people come over to our tent to try our INJECTADRY (equipment we use) mini golf game. It was challenging but these firefighters do not quit! 

2019 Live Lucky Golf Tournament

On August 16^th, we had the privilege to sponsor the 2019 Live Lucky Golf Tournament hosted by the Husomestrong Foundation. The proceeds will help cover Solo Rider Adaptive Golf Carts to be bought and placed in golf courses throughout Cedar Valley. We are proud to help a foundation that helps people live their fullest even after amputation. We gave out frozen snickers, long SERVPRO golf tees, talked about Emergency Ready Profiles and shared some golf puns. It was TEE-rrific!

2019 Iowa Irish Fest

On August 3rd, 2019, we went out as the SERVPRO family to be a part of a fun weekend community event called Iowa Irish Fest. This festival was so much fun as it celebrated Irish culture and was filled with entertainment. Our owner Scott Demuth ran a 5k that morning and joined the whole team later to serve some beverages to the community. We are excited to be a part of the Waterloo community and seeing it flourish as it did that weekend. 

Northeast Iowa Regional Board of Realtor's Golf Outing 2019

On June 4th, We were able to see so many of our real estate friends having a great time at Beaver's Hills. We were able to sponsor a hole for the event. We brought our very own SERVPRO canopy, some chairs, goodies, AND because we are very much about educating, we made a mini-golf game with one of the equipment we use on the field called an InjectaDry. We had so much fun with the Mexican theme! Thanks to all the real estate agents, insurers, and adjusters for having such a good time with us.

Special Olympics Iowa Cedar Falls / Waterloo Polar Plunge

We had the pleasure of being a sponsor for the Special Olympics Iowa Cedar Falls/Waterloo Polar Plunge through the Waterloo Law Enforcement held at George Wyth State Park in the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed supporting a cause that is near and dear to the hearts of our SERVPRO of Black Hawk County team members.

Northeast Iowa Food Drive

This year for the holiday season, SERVPRO of Black Hawk County is giving back to the community by hosting a food drive for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber Golf Classic 2018

SERVPRO of Black Hawk County enjoyed a beautiful day at Fox Ridge Golf course in Dike with over 120 people representing our communities in the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber Golf Classic 2018.

Waterloo Fire Charity Golf Tournament

Cedar Falls and Waterloo Firefighters, along with police officers, insurance agents, contractors, friends and even Waterloo Mayor Hart enjoyed a day of golf at Gates Park Golf course in Waterloo.

Northeast Iowa Realtor luncheon Continuing Education Class

SERVPRO of Black Hawk County franchise owner Scott Demuth presented a one hour CE class to the realtors of Northeast Iowa at their monthly luncheon. The class highlighted SERVPRO'S water and fire clean-up and restoration services along with mold remediation and carpet cleaning information.

Great turnout from Insurance Agents to SERVPRO of Black Hawk County Continuing Education Classes!

SERVPRO OF Black Hawk County had over 65 insurance agents attend the continuing education classes they organized on April 20 held at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa presented by Todd Davis. Errors and omissions along with fire insurance and claims were the topics.

Marine Reserve 25th Reunion
